Interesting jigsaw puzzle game

I don't usually review games; however this puzzle game is a welcome change for me from the HOGs I usually play. I purchased it after finishing about half of the hour sample- I was intrigued. I liked being able to scroll down the column of pieces. I played the maximum amount of pieces and they were a bit small, even though I am playing on a wide screen monitor. The puzzles that I played (2 so far) were a bit dark, so I am anxious to see if all are the same way. The music is nice, but not a factor as far as I am concerned, as it can be turned down or off if desired. I highly recommend this game if you like computer jigsaw puzzles as I do.

Relaxing Jigsaw

Very challenging! 30 beautiful puzzles to enjoy. I would highly recommend this game to anyone who truly enjoys puzzles. No cheats or hints totally relaxing jigsaw fun!

THE BEST PUZZLE PROGRAM EVER!

IF YOU HAVE ALL THE TIME IN THE WORLD AND LOVE HARD PUZZLES THIS IS IT I AM GOING TO BUY THIS!!!! I STRONGLY RECOMMEND IT FOR THE MOSTLY DIE HARD OF PUZZLE FANS!!!!!!!!!

Addictive Puzzle

I absolutely loved it. I found it challenging with the way they slide the puzzle pieces down the side. Thought that was great. Hope they make another game. I'd buy it in a minute.

Definitely Different

First its nice to be the first to review a game. Right what can I say about this one, as I normally play HOS and adventure games. Well its definitely different, you must love to do jigsaws to enjoy this one. It is very relaxing which is what jigsaws are meant to be. You get a choice of sizes as well to pick from. Three different kinds of ships to do. The music is not bad either but you could always mute or turn it off if you want. It is definitely one you can sit back and enjoy doing something to wind you down in the evenings or on a rainy day. My only negative comment is all the pieces are already lined up for you the right way ready to put in no turning them around to see if they fit like you would in a normal jigsaw puzzle. Apart from that I like the game and I would recommend it to jigsaw lovers and to non jigsaw lovers give it a try you may be surprised.

Relaxing little Cruise

While I can see why this game might frustrate some, I actually enjoyed the ultra simplicity of the play. True, you cannot rotate the pieces, and there are no bells and whistles for sorting or arranging. The minimal area of the board does not allow for pieces to be joined in groups and later moved into place as you find in real jigsaws. But I didn't find myself looking everywhere for a piece that is hidden in an off-screen area either. The scrolling mechanism for the unused pieces was convenient. I did not try the 300 piece option but I can imagine that not being able to join pieces unless they connect to board edges or previously placed items could become difficult at that level. So if your joy in jigsaws is playing Beat the Clock, this may not be the game for you. That being said, I found the well illustrated graphics to be vastly superior to any other jigsaw site I have seen. I do enjoy ships and waterscapes and did not find the paintings nearly as dark as scenes from most HOGs games. As the music was soothing, I was not trying to race, and the finished graphics were well worth the effort in a way few on-line jigsaw puzzles are, I could see myself playing this whenever I am stressed or just want to unwind.

Okay puzzles

well i bought this game and i like the puzzles but there is not very many to do...I was surprised after i bought it and found this out....

These Ship Puzzles Sank Like a Rock!

I enjoy compter jigsaws a lot and planned to enjoy this one. But almost from the outset it just wasn't shipshape for me. There are virtually no "bells and whistles" such as rotation, color adjustment, piece size, shape, ghost image or even a story line. The "story" was referred to in the discription but not in the game. The ships are beatufully drawn but most images are dark and many are black and white. The pluses while few are there: the pieces lock into place when corectly positioned and all are at the edges of the work area. But I found it a dull, frustratingly rough voyage in what could've been a delightful cruise. So while I suggest you give it a try you may find you've boarded the Titanic, not the QEII!.

Beautiful sailing ships, but pieces are too small in the larger puzzles

Jips is a Jigsaw Ship Puzzles Game. My review is based on the 1 hr trial. Graphics were beautiful lg sailing ships. 1st you choose between Asian, Mediterranean, or Caribbean ships. I chose Caribbean. The trial only had 3 of 6 ships unlocked for the trial. You couldn't see what the other ships would look like if you purchased the game, which was very disappointing. Once you choose the ship you then have the option of playing the puzzle in 3 diff sz, 6X8(48pc), 12X16(208pc), or 15X20(300 pc). I played a 6X8 first. The puzzle mat was in the center third of my screen as shown on the Big Fish description pg. Graphics were great and the music was calm/peaceful. When I moved onto the largest puzzles, I thought the puzzle pc sz would increase in sz also, it did not. The 300 pcs for the 15X20 sz were still only taking up the same area that the 48 pcs of the 6X8 puzzle did, meaning the pcs became TINY (1/6th sz). The description pg shows both the 12X16 & a 15X20 puzzle, so be sure to click on each of those pictures to be sure that you can see them well enough as they will only be slightly larger than shown on that pg. Pcs are lined up down the Rt side & you can move pcs around and sort them as you would when you do a real puzzle. Once you choose the picture of the ship you are going to do, you do not have a picture of the ship on your screen to refer to. There is a magnifying glass in the upper left that when you click it, it will bring up a picture of the ship at the completed size but, while in this mode, your pcs are locked from being moved. If you need to see a picture to complete the puzzle this could be a very frustrating aspect of this game as you will need to keep clicking back and forth to determine where a specific pc needs to be placed. When you are placing pcs, if you are within a puzzle pc of where the pc belongs, the game will grab the pc and lock it into place. This would allow you to just click along a whole row to see if the game would solve where the pc belongs, instead of req the pla

This ship sank for me

If you like old ships and jigsaw puzzles this may be the game for you, I found the pictures very dark and dreary. The pieces lock into the right places on the board and go to the edge of the frame. You cannot however join pieces together therefore you have to find the correct place on the board for each piece individually. As the pieces are at the side you have to scroll up and down to see them all, although picking and placing and even placing a piece back in the pile is easy. If you have a passion for jigsaws then this game is for you.....for me? Not this time.
